Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom teeth often erupt or grow during the late teen years or early 20s. Its name is derived from the fact that it comes out during the age when most people are maturing.  Wisdom teeth though is no different from any other tooth except its time of eruption.

Wisdom teeth isn’t usually problematic unless it is impacted. When it’s impacted, it can cause pain, swelling and decay.   In this case, it has to be removed. Sames goes when the tooth is decayed, and causes pain and discomfort. Healthy wisdom teeth may also be extracted.

After the extraction, you will need 24-48 hours to recover from the procedure. Wisdom tooth extraction can be painful so to minimize that, local anesthesia is used. Pain medication is also provided after to avoid pain during the recovery period. It is imperative that you follow all instructions provided by the doctor to avoid complications.
